My daughter is home....

Sarah, my oldest girl went and left me a couple of weeks ago..down to Illinois State for college.  How weird was it, you ask?  Very!  I missed her so much more than I anticipated.  We dropped her off at her dorm, set up her room, shopped and had lunch.  Then we left.     Wait, I cannot leave her here...how will she make it? Wont she need me?
I waited all day to text...bedtime came and I texted a quick goodnight.  A few minutes later, a response..."night, momma."
I cried myself to sleep...
She is home for the holiday weekend, I am content.

thrifting addict

I have an obsession....my family knows it, my friends, too. I cannot help myself, I must thrift! And now I seem to have discovered a million thrifting blogs with some awesome bloggers who put my thrifting skills to shame.  Really, to shame!  What they do with some of these pieces of furniture, how they repurpose items they find is just incredible.  It just makes me want to go and shop or pick like a mad woman.

what a wild idea.  Blogging? Me?  What could I possibly have to say.. I cannot remember the last time I actually sat down and put my thoughts to words..I have always been a fairly private person, not one who shares all with the world.  Some would say I have a very upbeat, outgoing way about me.  I don't think so.  I see myself much more quietly...I am they type who fills silence sometimes with words, asks questions, makes small talk....It almost sounds like I am afraid of silence, I'm not.
